Micralax

Micralax is a micro-enema. It works by softening the stools and in this way helps to relieve constipation and clear the bowel, especially in bedridden patients, the elderly, those giving birth and children. It may also be used before some examinations of the bowel.

Composition:

One dose of Micralax is contained in each 5ml tube. Each dose contains:

• 450mg sodium citrate
• 45mg sodium alkylsulphoacetate

Micralax also contains sorbitol solution, glycerol, sorbic acid and purified water.

Before Taking This Medicine:

Please consider the following:

• Do you suffer from any inflammatory bowel diseases, such as ulcerative colitis?
• Are you pregnant, planning to become pregnant or breast feeding?
• Are you allergic to any of the ingredients shown above or have you used this medicine before and suffered a reaction?

If the answer to any of these questions is YES, speak to your doctor (or pharmacist) before taking this medicine.

Dosage:

The usual dose for adults and children over 3 years is one tube. Micralax usually works within 5 to 15 minutes, so make sure you are near a toilet before using it. Always use a fresh tube of Micralax every time.
