Psoriderm scalp lotion contains two active ingredients, distilled coal tar and lecithin.

Active Ingredients

Coal Tar

Coal tar has been used in skin conditions for hundreds of years, but it is still not fully understood how it works, mainly because it is made up of so many different compounds.

• Mild antiseptic and anti-inflammatory effects
• Relieves itching
• Absorbed into skin cells, inhibiting DNA replication and slowing down cell division
• Breaks down keratin, a protein that forms part of the skin structure, helping skin cells shed from the treated area

Lecithin

Lecithin is a phospholipid that softens psoriasis scales and enhances the absorption of coal tar into skin cells.
